A Look Inside the Career of Peter Shalulile

Peter is a product of Namibia’s Tura Magic FC, which he joined when they were competing in the NFA Khomas second level and assisted in getting promoted in the 2011–2012 season. He advanced from the U-20 to Senior Namibia National Soccer Team and contributed significantly by scoring goals as they won their first-ever trophy, the COSAFA Cup, in 2015.

Following a strong performance in the COSAFA Cup in 2015, he joined Highlands Park, who were competing in South Africa’s second tier at the time, and assisted them in being promoted. His two important goals against Mbombela in the Playoff game at Makhulong Stadium on June 15, 2016, propelled Highlands Park to South African football’s top division.

The media made rumors that Shalulile was being pursued by three of South Africa’s top teams, Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, and Orlando Pirates, in the middle of the 2019–20 campaign. This was entirely due to his erratic play in front of goal. In fact, he and Gabadinho Mhango of Orlando Pirates tied for the season’s most goals.

A Look Inside the Career of Peter Shalulile

Highlands Park FC, and Mamelodi Sundowns FC all announced that he had signed for the latter team at the conclusion of the same 2019–20 season. He adjusted pretty quickly, as seen by the 4 goals he scored in 7 league games. Shalulile, is the second Namibian player to sign for Mamelodi Sundowns after Ronnie “The Magnet” Fillemon Kanalelo who played with the Brazilians from 1997 to 2005.

In his first season Shalulile doesn’t appear to be having any trouble establishing himself at Masandawana. His dedication to offense, defense, and teamwork with teammates clearly demonstrates why Sundowns signed him.

In six goals for the senior national team on the international stage, Peter’s most recent came in Namibia’s 1-0 victory over Niger in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on June 4, 2016.

He was a member of the Namibian under-19 squad that won the Metropolitan Under-19 Premier Cup in South Africa in 2011.

He received the PSL Footballer of the Season award in 2021.
