Black Rhinos’ Coach Claims Unfair Disallowed Goal In Loss To Highlanders
Black Rhinos’ coach, Stanford “Stix” Mtizwa, expressed his disappointment with the referee’s decision during their Castle Lager Premiership Matchday 2 game against Highlanders on Saturday. In the first half, Rhinos had a goal disallowed due to an offside call by the referee. Mtizwa strongly criticized the referee’s call, believing that their player had beaten the defender in the goal line.
In a post-match interview, the coach shared his thoughts with the media, saying,
“We scored first but we still wonder why the referee disallowed that goal because we thought our player did beat that defender in the goal line. But the referee decided to disallow our goal, we know the referee’s decision is final but we are worried about such a decision.”

Unfortunately for Rhinos, Highlanders went on to score the winner in the second half through McKinnon Mushowe. The result handed Highlanders their first victory of the season, while Rhinos suffered their first defeat.
It was a disappointing outcome for Rhinos, who believed that they should have at least secured a draw had the goal not been disallowed. The decision by the referee is always final, but the team will have to regroup and work harder to ensure that they are on the right side of such calls in the future.
As for Highlanders, they will be thrilled with their victory and will hope to build on this momentum going forward. The Castle Lager Premiership is a highly competitive league, and every victory is important. The team will be looking to build on this result and string together a series of wins to climb up the table.
Overall, the match was an exciting encounter between two competitive sides, and the referee’s decision certainly added to the drama of the game. Despite the disappointment for Rhinos, the team will need to remain focused and continue working hard to achieve their goals for the season.
