Disappointing Outcome For Percy Tau At Al Ahly? Ex Orlando Pirates Coach De Sa Gives His Verdict On The Al Ahly Star
Percy Tau has allegedly fallen short of expectations, according to Roger de Sa, who describes what he hoped the striker would contribute to Al Ahly.

Tau joined Al Ahly from Brighton of the Premier League in 2021, but injuries have hampered his stay there.
De Sa discusses Tau’s time at Al Ahly.
WHAT HAPPENED? In August 2021, the Bafana Bafana star transferred from Brighton and Hove Albion of the Premier League to the Cairo giants. South Africans were divided by his decision; some thought he should have stayed with the Seagulls to fight for his position, while others thought his decision to go back to Africa was wise.
Tau will now face Mamelodi Sundowns when they play Al Ahly on February 25 in Cairo as part of a Caf Champions League Group B matchup. De Sa uses the chance to discuss Tau’s time in Egypt thus far and expresses his belief that the 28-year-old will become a superstar in that country as he predicts the Sundowns-Al Ahly encounter.
Huge game between Sundowns and Al Ahly, KHANYE SAID. “It’s a final between two of the biggest names in African football, in my opinion. That is beyond a shadow of a doubt, De Sa stated on SuperSport TV”.

“It’s nice to see South African athletes competing there. When I saw Tau arrive, I assumed he would be a celebrity in Egypt. In that league, I predicted he would score 30 goals”. “I believe he sustained a few injuries, but I also believe he possesses the skills to compete in that league and score 30 goals. He is surrounded by excellent players, which is wonderful”.
“But the game will be fantastic. Sundowns also needs a challenge. They may be looking forward to this challenge since they feel unchallenged at home. Great African match, in my opinion”.
Tau’s stint in Egypt has been hampered by injuries, and in his first season there, he made 33 appearances in all competitions and scored eight goals. He has scored three goals in seven games this season, including one against Auckland City earlier this week in the ongoing 2022 Fifa Club World Cup.
Due to his troubles in Egypt, rumors surfaced in January that he may return to Sundowns after the Brazilians reportedly made an offer for Al Ahly, but nothing came of it.
WHAT WILL TAU DO NEXT? When Al Ahly play Seattle Sounders on Saturday, Tau will be hoping to maintain his Club World Cup form and put his name on the scoresheet once more. He will also be hoping to prove to De Sa that he can be the superstar he predicted he would be when he first arrived in Egypt.
Wonderful post but I was wondering if you could write a litte more on this topic?
I’d be very grateful if you could elaborate a little bit more.
Thanks!
