Erik Ten Hag Sings Praises Of Benni McCarthy In Latest Interview

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has recently spoken about the value of having a specialist forward coach like Benni McCarthy on the team and the positive impact it has had on the club.
Under Ten Hag’s leadership, the Red Devils clinched their first silverware in six years by winning the Carabao Cup last month. Additionally, they have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Europa League and remain in the running for the FA Cup. They are set to face Fulham in the quarterfinals on Sunday.
MARCUS RASHFORD ESSENTIAL TO MANCHESTER UNITED’S REVIVAL

A crucial factor in their revival has been English forward Marcus Rashford, who netted his 27th goal of the season during the second leg of the Europa League victory against Real Betis last Thursday.
With two months remaining before the end of the current campaign, Rashford has already achieved a personal best in terms of goal tally. The Dutch head coach has revealed why he felt his attacking lineup required a figure similar to ex-Bafana Bafana top scorer Benni McCarthy.
The former Ajax Amsterdam boss was not concerned with the South African’s limited experience, having held just two head coaching positions in Africa, when he brought him on board.
ERIK TEN HAG EMPHASIZES BENNI MCCARTHY’S INFLUENCE
Ten Hag attributes Rashford’s impressive form this season to the playing style, which provides a solid foundation and structure that complements the forward’s skills. He also credits the support staff for helping Rashford progress.
The manager further explained why he believed McCarthy, who netted 37 goals in the Premier League for Blackburn Rovers, would benefit his attacking players.
He said,
“I felt we needed someone on the staff specifically focused on our forwards, and Benni is doing a great job. Our staff has a well-balanced dynamic, and we all work together. It’s not just about Benni McCarthy; everyone has their particular roles. There’s a positive atmosphere, and they challenge one another. It’s a comprehensive package, not just one individual.”
Barring injuries or a dip in form, Rashford, the Three Lions’ forward, is on track to become the first Manchester United player to score 30 goals across all competitions in a decade.
