Exclusive: Agent Sheds Light On Kaizer Chiefs’ Target’s Controversial Past

The representative of Andile Jali and Sipho Mbule, Mike Makaab, has disclosed that both players acknowledged to him the existence of ‘issues’ regarding recent allegations of alcohol consumption.

Last week, the two Mamelodi Sundowns players were accused of attending training while under the influence of alcohol, although coach Rhulani Mokwena defended them against the disciplinary breach.

There has been no public statement from Jali and Mbule, but their agent has now stated that they recognized the issues and have since resolved them.

As his contract nears its conclusion, Andile Jali appears to be unhappy at the club following limited playing time, while Sipho Mbule has a history of disciplinary breaches, having been suspended by his former club SuperSport United before joining Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the current season.

According to quotes from iDiski Times, agent Mike Makaab has confirmed that he has spoken to Jali and Mbule, but the players have elected to say very little regarding the recent incident.

Makaab stated that he intends to address the matter with the players and the club, but will do so in the right forum and focus on the way forward.

Jali last started a game on January 28, while Mbule impressed in a Nedbank Cup match on February 7. Talks are ongoing between Jali and the club, but the latest incident could impact the club’s decision over his future amid reported interest from Kaizer Chiefs.

With injuries already affecting the squad, it remains to be seen whether Jali and Mbule will be included in the squad for the upcoming Champions League match against Al Ahly on Saturday.
