Teboho Mokoena Secures Prestigious 2022/23 PSL Footballer of the Season Title

During the highly anticipated awards gala on Sunday night, Mamelodi Sundowns’ talented midfielder, Teboho Mokoena, was crowned the coveted 2022/23 PSL Footballer of the Season.

Mokoena’s exceptional contributions throughout the season have transcended mere statistical measures, establishing him as one of the finest midfielders not only in the league but also on the entire African continent.

This esteemed accolade was determined through voting by the 16 coaches of the DStv Premiership, who unanimously recognized Mokoena’s outstanding campaign across all competitions during the 2022/23 season.

In a stiff competition, he outshone his fellow Sundowns teammate Ronwen Williams and the formidable Orlando Pirates winger Monnapule Saleng, both of whom also enjoyed remarkable performances throughout the campaign.

Saleng, in particular, can reflect upon a remarkable season that saw him lift two trophies and steer Pirates to a commendable second-place finish in the fiercely contested DStv Premiership.

Meanwhile, Williams made history by breaking the league’s clean sheet record, surpassing the previous milestone held by Moeneeb Josephs. With an impressive tally of 18 clean sheets in 26 matches, Williams showcased his exceptional goalkeeping skills and played an instrumental role in his team’s successes.
