Fully Funded Czech Republic Government Scholarships 2024/25 for International Students

The Government of the Czech Republic is extending a helping hand to students from developing and specific third countries by offering scholarships for studies at public higher education institutions in the Czech Republic.

This initiative is a vital component of the country’s foreign development cooperation, with a history of supporting over 20,000 foreign nationals in pursuing their education at Czech universities.

The application deadline for the academic year 2024/2025 is September 30, 2023.

1. General Information: Advancing Foreign Development Cooperation

The Czech Republic’s government scholarships aim to promote higher education for citizens of select developing and specific third countries.

This initiative, governed by Resolution No. 77 of the Czech Government, reflects a joint foreign development cooperation program involving the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Health.

2. Eligible Countries and Study Programmes: Empowering Future Leaders

For the academic year 2024/2025, the scholarships are exclusively available to citizens of the following countries:

  • Belarus
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Cambodia
  • Ethiopia
  • Georgia
  • Moldova
  • Ukraine
  • Zambia

The focus of these scholarships is on fostering the education of foreign nationals from developing and specific third countries.

Citizens of the Czech Republic, European Union, or any foreign national with a permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic are ineligible to apply for this scholarship.

3. Scholarship Categories and Duration: Supporting Academic Growth

The Government Scholarships cover the standard length of study in two categories:

a. Follow-up Master Study Programmes:

Awarded to graduates of Bachelor’s degree programs, this scholarship includes a one-year preparatory course in the Czech language combined with field-specific training.

Applicants can only enroll in study programs offered in the Czech language and may be required to sit entrance examinations at their chosen university.

b. Follow-up Master and Doctoral Study Programmes:

Graduates of Bachelor or Master’s programs can apply for this category to pursue study programs with English language instruction.

4. Application Submission and Deadline: Seizing Educational Opportunities

Applicants must complete an electronic application form no later than September 30, 2023, to be considered for the academic year 2024/2025.

Successful applicants will commence their studies in the Czech Republic under the government scholarship program.
