Kaizer Chiefs Aim For Caf Champions League Spot
Kaizer Chiefs Coach Zwane Remains Confident of CAF Champions League Qualification
Despite a season filled with frustration for Kaizer Chiefs, Coach Arthur Zwane has assured fans that the club’s goal of qualifying for the CAF Champions League is still on track. Zwane has shown a willingness to experiment with younger players, hoping that their development will lead to success in the future.
Patience is Key for Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs have struggled to find a consistent starting XI this season, unlike their rivals Mamelodi Sundowns. However, Coach Zwane has pleaded with fans to be patient, insisting that the club has a plan that will reveal itself in due time.
“We’re not going to tell you what the plan is for Kaizer Chiefs. It is our secret as a club, but we do have a plan,” he said.
Zwane is confident that the club’s plans will soon be evident to all.
“If you want to achieve something, you can’t not have a plan. [Lack of strategy] allows a lot of things to happen and that will obviously unsettle you. But as time goes by, everyone will be able to see our plan.”
Returning to the CAF Champions League
Zwane is hopeful of guiding Kaizer Chiefs back to the CAF Champions League.
“That is where we can grow as a team and where our players will grow from playing in such a demanding tournament. It’s good for the club and the supporters. The history of the club says we have to compete in that competition year in and year out.”
The coach is drawing on his own success in last season’s incredible knockout stage run, hoping to replicate that achievement in the current campaign.
“The results have been fluctuating, but we play to win every game. We would love to be up there because I have tasted the sweetness of playing in the CAF Champions League.”
Optimism for the Future
Despite their current struggles, Coach Zwane remains optimistic about the future of Kaizer Chiefs. “We have a group of players who are willing to learn, willing to work hard, and willing to take on the challenge. The key is to remain patient and continue working hard.”
With the CAF Champions League still a possibility for the club, Zwane is hoping that their plans will come to fruition, leading to success both on the continent and domestically.
