Mamelodi Sundowns Coach Heaps Praise on Lesedi Kapinga After Impressive Nedbank Cup Display

Rhulani Mokwena, coach of Mamelodi Sundowns, couldn’t stop singing the praises of Lesedi Kapinga after their thrilling 3-2 victory over Richards Bay in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32.

On the final hours of the January transfer window, rumors were flying that Kapinga was packing his bags and searching for a new adventure, leaving his current club behind.

However, with the transfer window slamming shut and no takers for the talented player, Kapinga was stuck at Sundowns like a fly on flypaper, biding his time until the season’s final whistle blows in May.

Amid Sundowns’ busy schedule, which includes juggling between the league, Nedbank Cup and Champions League, Mokwena has had to rotate his side.

On Tuesday night, the Mamelodi Sundowns coach was feeling adventurous and decided to shake things up, making seven changes to the team that trounced Orlando Pirates 1-0 over the weekend.

And just like that, they won their 15th consecutive league game! Peter Shalulile was the star of the show, scoring two beautiful goals against Richards Bay, while Mosa Lebusa added the cherry on top with a stunning third.

This victory not only kept their Nedbank Cup defense alive, but it also secured their spot in the last 16.

Lesedi Kapinga waltzed his way onto the pitch and into our hearts with a performance that was nothing short of stellar.

This gentle giant let his feet do the talking, assisting two of the three goals that secured Mamelodi Sundowns’ victory.

Coach Rhulani Mokwena couldn’t help but sing his praises, acknowledging that Kapinga’s hard work and dedication to the team made him a proud mentor.

He even had the audacity to suggest that Kapinga could have had a couple more goals to his name if Lady Luck had been on his side. What a night for the quiet hero!”

Mokwena, a man who is never afraid to spread the love, showered his starting eleven with high praise for their top-notch performance against a strong opposition.

As the reigning champs take a break from domestic duties, they gear up to welcome international powerhouse Al Hilal to the pitch for a showdown in the Champions League’s opening round.
