Opportunity Knocks: Highlanders Talent Earns Orlando Pirates Trials
Highlanders’ Prince Ndlovu to Undergo Orlando Pirates Trials.
Highlanders’ rising star Prince Ndlovu is set to undertake a trial with DStv Premiership giants Orlando Pirates. The 17-year-old arrived in South Africa on Sunday night and will train with the Sea Robbers from March 20 to March 26. Ndlovu, who made his senior team debut for Highlanders in July 2020, will spend a week with Pirates to showcase his footballing skills.
Bosso communication and marketing officer Nozibelo Maphosa confirmed the news, saying
“He will be on trials from the 20th to the 26th of March.”
Ndlovu had previously trained with Pirates in January while waiting for a visa to travel to Croatia.

The youngster was supposed to undergo a month-long trial stint at Croatian second-tier club HNK Vukovar 1991 alongside Majesa Academy’s attacking midfielder Promise Sithole. However, the trip didn’t materialize as he failed to secure the visa.
Ndlovu’s promotion from Bosso 90’s developmental side to the senior team was a significant achievement for the young footballer. His impressive performances in the youth ranks saw him earn his first-team debut, where he has shown tremendous potential as a midfielder.
The trial with Pirates is an excellent opportunity for Ndlovu to showcase his skills at a high level and potentially secure a move to one of South Africa’s biggest clubs. He will hope to impress the Pirates’ coaching staff with his work rate, technical ability, and determination on the pitch.
The Pirates have a rich history of developing young talent and giving them opportunities to succeed at the highest level. With the likes of Thembinkosi Lorch, Thulani Hlatshwayo, and Gabadinho Mhango among others, the Sea Robbers have demonstrated their ability to spot and nurture young talent.
If Ndlovu can impress during his trial with the Pirates, he could earn himself a permanent move to the club, where he would have the opportunity to learn and grow alongside some of the best players in South Africa. Regardless of the outcome of the trial, this is a significant milestone in Ndlovu’s career, and he will undoubtedly benefit from the experience.
