Pitso’s Tactics Pay Off: Al Ahli Widens Gap In Promotion Race
Al Ahli, coached by Pitso Mosimane, have taken a significant lead in the promotion race after their 10th win under the South African coach. They beat Ohod, who are currently in 11th place, thanks to goals by Haitham Mohammed Asiri and Bastos.
This victory marks their seventh win in the last eight matches. Al Ahli now have a nine-point gap between them and the non-promotion spots. The win keeps them level on points with the league leaders, Al Hazem, who also secured a 2-0 win on Monday.
Both Al Hazem and Al Ahli Saudi are currently level on points with 46 each in the First Division, creating a nine-point gap with the fifth-placed Al-Faisaly, who still have a game in hand.
Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahli side clinched their 10th win in their recent match against Ohod on Monday afternoon, thanks to goals from Haitham Mohammed Asiri and Bastos in the 11th and 65th minutes, respectively.
Under Mosimane’s charge, Al Ahli has won 10, drawn six, and lost only one of their 17 matches so far in the Saudi Arabian league.
Next up, they will play against Jeddah Club, who are currently seventh in the league table, on 1 March.
