Sundowns Chairman Pursues Coaching Qualification

The South African Football Association’s (SAFA) latest coaching course, the D-Licence course, has attracted notable individuals from the football world, including Mamelodi Sundowns’ Chairperson, Tlhopane ‘Tlhopie’ Motsepe, and Kaitlin Hunt, daughter of SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt.

The Safa-Ekurhuleni region is hosting the course, which began on March 11 and will run over weekends to cater to individuals who are fully employed elsewhere. The program’s next session will take place from March 18 to 21, followed by another from March 24 to 25, with the closing date set for April 1.

A total of 37 coaching aspirants are attending the course being held at Germiston Stadium. Renowned CAF instructors, Jose De Oliveira and Simon Tshowa are conducting the course.

Tlhopie Motsepe took over as chair of Sundowns after his father, Patrice Motsepe, stepped aside as the club’s president when he was elected as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) boss in March 2021.

Kaitlin Hunt is a vocal commentator on football matters on social media. Safa-Ekurhuleni president, Job Mchunu, has confirmed that the coaching course started on March 11 and will run over weekends to cater to those fully employed elsewhere.
