Sundowns’ Kekana Ready For More Action
Mamelodi Sundowns defender Grant Kekana says his team is not resting despite already securing the DStv Premiership title. The team clinched their sixth consecutive league crown before their recent 2-1 win over Coton Sport in the CAF Champions League after SuperSport United was held to a 1-1 draw by Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Training and Preparation
Kekana shared some insight into the squad’s activities since their victory. “Most of us did recovery, and the others were training on Sunday before preparation for Cape Town City,” he said. The team is preparing for their upcoming match against Cape Town City, and Kekana said Sundowns would approach the game with the same winning mentality as always.
Mentality to Win
Kekana stated that Sundowns doesn’t want to become complacent and that there is still much to play for, despite winning the league title. The team has set standards for themselves at the beginning of the season, and there are records they’re willing to break. Kekana revealed that these standards motivate them to go on and keep winning games.

Cape Town City Challenge
Although many are expecting Sundowns to win their next match against Cape Town City, Kekana warned his teammates and supporters that the Eric Tinkler-led side would pose a tough challenge. He pointed out that City is a good team, and they are looking to reach their target of finishing second, which they achieved last season.
Next Fixtures
Sundowns will host Cape Town City on Tuesday evening at Loftus, followed by a game against Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday. Kekana expressed the team’s appreciation for the support they receive from their fans and urged them to come out in numbers to support them in every game.
